Ben re "
Matrix"

I was really interested in the combat matrix info, and was thinking of trying to put together one of my own for sh*ts and giggles.

I figured this might be a fun diversion to try with my D&D group, so I was going to base it on the miniatures I already have (which isn't a huge collection). Second, I thought I would come up with a smaller list of base creatures (6 instead of 12) and use variants to round things out.

So far, I came up with a small table and tried giving every creature type balanced scores (6,7,8,8,9,10). As I started getting into variants I realized this might need some tweaking, especially when figuring ranged combat and wizards (following some of your suggestions).

My other big obstacle is figuring out the non-combat rules (or I should say, non-matrix rules), like how many creatures each character starts with and how to balance the overall "army" the player has at the beginning of play. I didn't want every monster to be balanced (special abilities will unbalance things quickly, have to be careful there). Also, I liked the idea of randomly determining what monsters you start with (ideally, have cards for each monster and draw randomly, but I don't have cards for each one--maybe just a d100 table).

Anyway, probably too much info. I was hoping maybe you could give me a little feedback. I'd be glad to share what I have with you so far.

Anyway, love the website. Thanks
